Children of Lucy
Afro/Asian/Latin rock-jazz dance band
Children of Lucy, comprised of drums, bass, guitar, percussion, alto sax and trombone, play beautiful and original
dance music from around the world, including a Cumbia from Colombia, a Wassalou piece from Mali, an Afro-Beat tune from Senegal, a
polymetric dance from the Congo, a Hindu dance from Southern India, and some jazz and rockNroll. All compositions are written or
arranged by DrClock.
Drummer A C Lewis, AKA DrClock, has been a musician, composer, freelancer, teacher, and student of music for 56 years now.
Starting as a Trombonist, he switched to Congas in High School, started drumset in College, and classical percussion at the S F
Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelors degree, He also has a Masters from the Juilliard school, a Post Grad diploma from the
Mannes College of Music, a teaching certificate from the Lewis-Clark State University in Idaho, 2 Masters in Conducting from the
Universidad Juan Corpas in Bogota Colombia and SF State U. He has performed worldwide with ensembles including the Mexico City Phil, the
Orquesta Nacional de Colombia, the New Zealand Symphony, and 20 years with the San Francisco Symphony. Luminaries with whom he has had the
pleasure to perform include Ritchie Havens, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Leonard Bernstein, Frank Zappa, Michael Tilson Thomas, Steve
Reich, YoYo Ma, Bobby McFerrin, Joan Jett, Isaac Stern, Aaron Copland, Pierre Boulez, Jeffery Kahane, and Kent Nagano, among other. He’s
shared the stage with Moby Grape and members of the Grateful Dead, and studied Composition with John Adams at the SF Conservatory. He “made
it there” in N Y, as freelancer on Broadway and countless ensembles, but is happily settled now in our fair Bay Area. As bandleader he
toured Colombia with the A C Lewis Trio, in 2005 created and is still occasionally performing with the poymetric octet Deep Hip Pocket, and
is now steering Children of Lucy. He presently performs as PrincipalTimpanist with the Santa Rosa Symphony, and freelances
with countless orchestras, Jazz Rock and Polka bands, and various other ensembles.
Guitarist David El covers a lot of ground. As vocalist, he’s an adept rapper and a sensitive crooner,
as a guitarist he rips rocking solos with articulate jazzy harmonic sophistication, displaying a familiar yet renewed sound that blends
elements of jazz and blues tonality into a latin rock, hip hop vibe. David Has been making waves in the Bay Area Music scene both as a side
man and with his David El 3-oh! trio.
Bassist Alex Holloway lives in the East Bay. He studied bass with Doctor Aaron Miller at Brigham Young University, and has
many years of touring nationally on both electric and upright bass. He has recorded with a wide variety of artists and is featured on award
winning international releases. Passionate about making music, he considers his job well done if your toes start tapping til you jump up
dancing to the groove.
Alto Saxophonist Eric Scheide is also a band leader and composer. He studied saxophone performance at San Francisco State
University, and has performed with Einsteinium Quartet, SF Civic Symphony, City Swing Big Band, Gina Maadrid, Detour, SF L/G Freedom Band,
Ray of Light Theater, Jazz Beaus, What's Cookin' Quintet, David Mcfarland Project, The Soul Miners, Left Coast Project and many others,
including performing with and recording DrClock’s previous band Deep Hip Pocket.
Trombonist Alex Vanscoy is a graduate of the SF State University, and is presently studying at City College, SF. He was a
member of Mr. Lewis' jazz band when DrClock was teaching at Lincoln High School.
Percussionist Mar Stevens, drum warrior, connected with her inner rhythms as a child drumming on my grade school desk.
She began her drum journey twenty years ago with Master Drummer, Afia Walking Tree, of Spirit Drumz. The Drum transformed her life and
continues to inspire and heal herself and those who hear her. She continued her studies of West African rhythms by attending the
Fore-Fote drum camp in Guinea, West Africa, where she studied with Master Drummers and dancers on the Island of Roume, learning songs,
dances, and rhythms. She presently teaches and shares the love of rhythms of West Africa with the Bay Area community. She leads and
performs with the ensemble Sistahs of the Drum, a Bay Area group of Women of African descent (www.sistahsofthedrums.org).
The group’s mission is to heal, transform, and witness through the power of the drum. She also led Sista Boom, a women’s Brazilian marching
band, for 12 years. She currently teaches at Meadows Livingstone school, an Afrocentric elementary school in San Francisco, as well as at
Born to Drum, a summer camp in the Bay Area, and has a studio of private students. She performs regularly at various Bay Area venues
including Ashkenaz, Bioneers Conference, Mills College, UCSF, Cal State East Bay, SF State, Oakland Temescal Festival, among others.
Rue 66
Rue '66 is a modern day yé yé band from San Francisco, California. The genre known as yé yé refers to French
pop music made in the 1960's. Rue '66 covers this kind of material while offering of few songs of their own. It's groovy blend of '60s
harmonies, go-go boots, and surf guitar that gets everyone on the dance floor.
Sonamó
Sonamó is a band that breaks the mold, leading a revolutionary musical movement that merges Italian melodies with funk, Latin rhythms, and
world music influences. Their high-energy sound is a vibrant mix of diverse traditions, captivating audiences and lighting up stages across
the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The band first established its roots with the release of an EP that experimented with rock, jazz,
Latin, and funk elements, setting the tone for a journey that would evolve into something truly unique. This journey reached a new level
with the release of "I Walk Through," a song that speaks to transition and growth. It reflects on moments where joy and pain
coexist and embraces the future with optimism, con dent that the best is yet to come. "Moving to San Francisco from Italy made me
realize that dreams can come true, and that applies to every aspect of life if you put your heart into it," says Giuseppe Pinto,
Sonamó's charismatic frontman. "Focus on making choices for love, rather than fear." Pinto's journey of finding home and
freedom in a new country was translated into the ethos of Sonamó, shaped by meeting creative guitarist Trent Berry. Trent describes his
experience with Sonamó as "like discovering a lost cousin, almost like a parallel evolution," highlighting the band's deep
connection and chemistry. Sonamó is now synonymous with high-octane parties where influences from afro-beat, traditional folk, and Brazilian
rhythms collide. Their shows are filled with infectious energy, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with thousands of fans
embracing their unique sound. Looking ahead, Sonamó is set to release their full album in 2025, a collection of music that promises to
capture their revolutionary spirit and further their mission to unite people through the universal language of music. If you haven't
experienced the magic of Sonamó yet, you're in for a treat. Their music transcends boundaries, inviting everyone to join in the
celebration of life and sound.
Rumba Kings
Rumba Kings Band, a captivating style of music and dance formed in 2014 in Quito Ecuador. It's a fusion genre that combines
elements of traditional flamenco music with Afro-Cuban rhythms, particularly those of the rumba.This style often features passionate
singing, intricate guitar playing, rhythmic handclaps, and vibrant dance movements. The band is currently performing in clubs and festivals
in and around the Bay Area, electrifying audiences with their traditional flamenco music with Afro-Cuban rhythms, as well as with other

Ed Varez
Eduardo hails from Lima, Peru and his passion for music was ignited at the tender age of 12 when he first picked up a guitar.
Over the years, he has honed his craft, studying "Songwriting and Music Production" at the Los Angeles Recording School.
Alongside performing with local bands, he has had the privilege of opening for renowned artists such as Julieta Venegas, Aleks Syntek,
Elefante, and Jarabe de Palo. His repertoire encompasses original compositions in both English and Spanish, alongside dynamic covers,
which he delivers with fervor at various local restaurants and venues in the Bay Area.
Ed Varez creates a unique fusion of rock, Latin, and tropical rhythms. His performances are characterized by an infectious energy that
captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression!
Iguazúl
Musician and Music Producer, Iguazúl (born Loïc Maestracci) is a versatile artist known for exotic, smooth, and soulfully tinged dance floor
sound combined with electro funk and Brazilian rhythms in a retro-modern style.Growing up in France, he came in touch with soul, funk, and
bossa nova through his parent’s vinyl collection. Iguazúl has been deeply influenced by his music heritage combined with travels
through world cities whose music traditions are important parts of their heritage: Rio, Paris, London, New Orleans, and Los Angeles, among
them. His music style blends electric pianos, electronic synths, and drum machines with organic voices and live percussion.His eight-track
debut EP, “Electro Funk Samba”, a product of French Electro tracks mixed with American Funk and Brazilian rhythms , was issued in
2016.Tapping into his mix of electro and latin sounds, he recently composed the music for Apple’s Switchers commercials in Latin
American.In 2023, he released his second album “Remote Work”. Two years in the making, Remote Workis a 8-track album that captures the
emotions, challenges, and triumphs of new work/lifestyles that emerged during the recent years. Tracks spam different genres from Hip Hop,
Trip Hop to Synthwave, Brazilian Jazz, and even chilled lofi. One of the previously released singles, “The Less You Try, The More You Stand
Out”, a Trip Hop track, already gathered over 70K streams on Spotify.The new lead track being released with this album is "New World" a
track that intersects electronic Brazilian jazz and African Hip Hop. The track captures the emotions of a divided world and how we overcome
them. He invited a Nigerian singer to record vocals above the instrumental.
