Vocabulary : The greetings, the class objects, the alphabet, the numbers until 100 and the days of the week.


Unit 2 : Entrez en contact (first contact)

Grammar : The three forms of « the », some key verbs (to be, to have, to live, to speak), the possessives (my, your...)

Vocabulary : The nationalities, the countries, the greetings (2), the numbers until 1 million, the months and the seasons.

* Tell the time 

Unit 3 : Faîtes connaissance (get to know each other)

Grammar : The -er verbs, asking precise questions, the possessives (2) (my, your...), the masculine and the feminine, the negation, me too/me neither. Vocabulary : The family, the jobs, the physical appearance, the sports and leisure activities, the clothes.

Unit 4 : Organisez une sortie (plan an outing)

Grammar : C’est VS il y a, the prépositions of place, the verb “to go”, the imperative, the moments of the day, the verb “faire” and “finir”.

Vocabulary : The places in the city, the directions, the itinerary, the leisure, the outings, telling the hour.

Grammar : Imperative mode, cause sentence, purpose sentence, negative sentence, past tenses (particularities), verbs devoir and pouvoir in present. 

Vocabulary : To give advice, to suggest a topic, to tell a trip

Unit 8 : Informez-vous (get informed)

Grammar : Verbs connaîntre and savoir in present, pronoun y, inversion, comparative, past and future tenses.

Vocabulary : To explain one's background, to describe one's work, to find accomodation.

*This is not a class for complete beginners. Please have completed  level A1-3 with us or elsewhere before registering for this class.

This class aims to help students acquire elementary knowledge about the French language and create a functioning vocabulary. Have you acquired some basics in French, but can’t seem to figure out how to actually speak? This course is for you! This course focuses on YOU talking as much as possible. The teacher will help you facilitate your speech, with pronunciation and grammar corrections when needed.


This 8 hours course will cover: 


Week 1 and 2 : Talk about yourself and your family. Describe who you are and who are the close persons in your life


Week 3 and 4 : Discuss your daily activities and your routine, ask / tell the time, work around numbers 


Week 5 and 6 : Talk about your favorite sports and hobbies! Share what you like to do  when you have free time


Week 7 and 8 : Transportations and how to go around your city and your country. 


Each conversation topic goes with necessary grammar material that corresponds to the A1 level requirements.


What materials will I need?

No books are required, the teacher will provide all the materials you need.


Can’t attend the onsite class because you’re traveling ? You can attend the online class instead! The same program is followed.

Club de Lecture - Beginner (A1-3+)

8-week Club de Lecture
As you know reading is one of the best tools to improve your language skills. In this course you will discover the pleasure of reading in French. We will work on an easy French novel. During this session we will read the book together page by page, discuss new vocabularies, slight review of some grammaire points if necessary, debate about the characters of the book and their decisions.


Every student is required to purchase their own book. The book this session is:
