Kids Camps 2018

Typical day in Our Camp :

Good news!  Healthy lunch and afternoon snack will be provided by the summer meal program.  No need to pack a lunch! Parents can also enjoy their summer!

Our Activities

Our French native teachers welcome all children in a happy, caring and relaxed atmosphere.

Morning activities are focused primarily on language skills. We combine direct instruction, small-group work, and one-on-one learning in a way that works for your child. Our teachers respect every individual rhythm and personality, and make sure that everyone enjoys their camp activities.

Except for the Fun in French discovery camp, we offer 3 difficulty levels for the morning activities depending on the age and French proficiency.

Afternoon activities are designed to give the children multiple ways to express their creativity and to learn and develop new skills.  Afternoon activities include visual and performing arts, games, and more surprises!

June 11-15: Fun in French Discovery Camp

Close your eyes, hold your breath, count to ten… And you are in Paris ! Who do you prefer being, a baker of delicious macarons, a fashionable hairdresser or just a delighted tourist ? All the secrets of the capital are within our grasps, so let’s build an Eiffel Tower, craft bikes for the Tour de France, create flags for Bastille Day and cook some special French cakes… Bon appétit and enjoy your stay in Paris !

One level only for this camp.

June 18-22: 20000 lieues sous les mers / Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea

We are going to explore the depths of the ocean where marine adventures are waiting for us ! Be ready to meet the most beautiful fishes of the sea, but be careful with the octopuses, jellyfishes, sharks and other mysterious animals…
One says that a treasure is hidden Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Let’s look for it and live one aquatic week !

June 25-29: Les aventuriers de Fort Boyard / Fort Boyard Adventurers

3-2-1 here we are, it’s time to play Fort Boyard… Be aware of tigers and guards !
The Fort is full of surprises, our Dream Team needs to thwart its traps to reach its treasure of Boyards. Memory game, enigmas to solve, agility activities, our week will stimulate the brain as well as the hands !
As the motto of the Fort claims : “Always further, always higher, always stronger !”

July 02-03: Mini camp artistique / Mini art Camp

2 days of fun art creations! Discover French artists and bring home your own art!

July 9-13: Le Petit Prince / Little Prince

An aviator lost in the desert meets a little prince from the smallest planet in the universe… We will discover this unique story together and come across a snake, a loyal fox, a broken plane, a proud rose, a drawn sheep and an unexpected friendship. We are going to tame this tale until turning it into a show where animals speak and children are wiser than “grown-ups”… Put your crown on your head and let the play begin !

July 16-20: Le Moyen-Age: Princesses et Chevaliers / Middle Ages : Princesses and Knights

Here the princesses are not asleep waiting for a prince to save them… Girls and boys build fortified castles and defend them against all dangers with swords and shields. The medieval beasts had better watch out, our heroes are on the case ! But don’t forget to put on your best costume and be ready for the dance…

July 23-27 : Le Chat Botté / Puss in boots

Have you ever wanted to be a cat ? A super smart, speaking, talented, beautiful cat ? Then this week is going to be your week! With the Puss in Boots as our mascot, let’s read cat’s adventures and become clever as one…Use your agility to move silently with the cat mask that you have built…

July 30- August 03: Cromagnon

Cavemen and cavewomen, be prepared for a journey back in Prehistoric Time  ! Have you ever tried to light a fire in a grotto ? Dinosaurs (yeah it’s an imaginary world, so we can add some !) , woolly mammoths, and archeological treasures are waiting for you to discover them ! Let’s develop your artistic soul by creating everlasting rock paintings, old-fashion straw waving and early forms of music… Be ready to live History !

August 06-10:  Le petit Chaperon Rouge / Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen, and she had a little red riding hood which suited her so extremely well that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood. We are going to read and play this eternal fairy tale together ! Take your pencils and your scissors and make the characters dance on a unique puppet show, create your own costume and give us your best interpretation of wolf, girl or grandma !

Financial Assistance

We know that for some families the cost of attending camp can be a financial burden that they might not be able to afford. At L’Alliance Française of San Francisco we have different tiers of pricing for our camp program to families earning less than 60% of the median rates income. We can only offer 1 specific rate for each week, on a first-come, first-serve basis, giving priority to children who didn’t receive it already during the same calendar year.

In order to be considered for financial assistance, you may request a meeting with the Academic Director Noëmie Causse to present your proof of revenue.

While you may have received financial assistance previously, that does not automatically ensure that you will be awarded one this year.

Thank you for choosing L’alliance Française for your child camp. Attendance is limited to ensure the highest level of immersion and in order to give each participant the best possible care, so be sure to register quickly as slots will be sure to fill up.

Please feel free to contact the Camp Coordinator ( ) or call Gisele our office manager at 415-775-7755, we’d love to talk with you, find out more about your family and answer any questions you might have.
